Threads of Our past

Our Heritage

Our story began over fifty years ago with Thelma and George Percy, whose passion for fine linens found a home in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Tucked inside a charming historic mansion just off Cathedral Square on Jefferson Street, the original Percy’s boutique stood beside the iconic George Watts tabletop emporium and tea shop. Beloved for its elegant offerings and inviting atmosphere, Percy’s quickly became a treasured destination—woven into the fabric of the city’s prestigious social and shopping scene.

Urban Elegance to Suburban Charm

As the years passed, Percy’s continued to evolve while staying true to its roots. In the 1990s, the boutique relocated to Mequon, bringing its legacy of luxury to a new generation of customers in a serene, suburban setting. The move offered a fresh canvas—yet the spirit of Percy’s remained unchanged: refined, personal, and deeply committed to quality.

A New Chapter

In 2007, Percy's valued employee and design enthusiast Laura Smith stepped forward to preserve the Percy’s legacy after the previous owner decided to close. With deep knowledge of the business and a true passion for fine linens, Laura purchased the boutique and ushered it into a new era.

Enduring the Test of time

With Laura's refined direction, the boutique has not only evolved—it has endured. Through the challenges of an economic recession in 2008, a devastating fire in 2010, and a global pandemic, Laura’s steady vision and unwavering commitment to quality has helped Percy’s remain a trusted source of comfort and beauty, even amidst uncertain times. Her passion for craftsmanship, personalized service, and timeless design continues to define the Percy’s experience today.

Across the Generations

Building upon Percy's legacy as a family-owned and operated business, Laura's daughter Krystle joined the Percy's team in 2022 to help carry Percy's forward into the next generation. With a foundation of deep love, trust and shared passion, they work passionately as a mother and daughter team to uphold Percy's legacy as Milwaukee-area's exclusive fine linen boutique.
